Time Trippin’

Time Travel. A notion most people don’t take seriously mainly because Marty McFly made it look fun in his hypothetical little world, with his self-tying Nike’s and Hover Skateboards. But is the idea of time-travel actually possible?

Einsten said it was, claiming there was a mathematical formula to it. About a year ago, someone discovered a slight glitch in a film shot at the premier of the 1928 Charlie Chaplin film, “The Circus”. The premier was held at Grumman’s Chinese Theater where in one of the shots, an older woman in era-appropriate attire walks through the shot, and you notice she’s talking on a cellphone. A CELLPHONE! In the 1920’s?

Earlier this year, when the potentially life-threatening to human kind Hadron Collider was scheduled to go online, there were complications and its initiation was postponed. But it wasn’t the first time that things had gone wrong. Resident staff scientists theorized in the most serious tone that they believed a time-traveler was sabotaging the project. In theory, it sounds plausible right? Hypothetically, these folks in the future saw what kind of cataclysmic damage the collider did and came back to try to stop it. For example, if you could prevent the way someone died or prevent their death all together, and had the freedome to do so with the right equipment, would’nt you?

Now, let’s think back to the lady on the cellphone. Here’s my theory: The woman, in the future, traveled back in time on something called a Time Tour, a service that allows you to travel to any point in time. They charge a hefty fee to do so, and dress you up in the appropriate attire for that era, whether it be bell-bottoms for the 70’s or hiking gear for your Jurassic Adventure in your very own personalized Time Travel Experience. The woman was clearly enjoying her own experience and probably giving someone a ring back home in her own time and didn‘t realize that the outside of the theater was being filmed. Sound a little far-fetched? How so? We now live in a world where Virgin Airlines makes space travel possible without the use of a hydrogen-filled space shuttle between our legs. Really?

I’m just saying, we don’t give ourselves, the human race, enough credit for our accomplishments and our very potential.

Time Travel: More Possible than Plausible

First off, I love you MIYM! Second, welcome back. Third, I hope you stick around for a while.

Now, regarding your post, I completely agree. I’m not 100% sold on that lady being from the future nor that she’s using a cell phone. I do believe that time travel is possible and that it’s been possible for a while. It’s a facinating notion.
